The Legacy Run To End Family Violence is Airdrie's only Half Marathon race and launched in 2017. Partnering with Community Links and Airdrie & District Victims Assitance Society, the run seeks to raise funds and awareness for domestic violence.
This is a family-friendly event with a race distance for everyone. As we enter our second year, we're excited to continue to grow the event bigger and better. Last year we sold out quickly, so secure your spot and start training!
Andrea Conroy was a strong, educated and vibrant young woman. She was athletic and committed to a lifestyle of fitness and nutrition. Andrea worked hard to help others reach their goals as a personal trainer and to make a positive impact in the community of Airdrie. She was a loving mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend and a role model for so many people. On February 21, 2012, in an act of domestic violence, she was tragically taken from us at the age of 33. She will be forever missed.
Family violence and abuse can happen to anyone. Let’s come together to bring this topic into the light, because when it comes to Family Violence, silence kills.
